NRS Air-Conditioning Design

Located in the tropics, and for our new facility in Penang, we wanted to “show-case” our own custom-made air-conditioning unit that exceed environmental expectations, and power requirements.

We designed our air-conditioning system as a critically low-charge ammonia water-chiller with an inverter driven reciprocating compressor-motor and an air-cooled condenser using Electronically Commutated (EC) Fans that could vary its speed (without the use of inverters).

Our chiller has been operating for over 2 years without any top-up of refrigerant or oil and cylinder heads show no signs of overheating. Chiller has an automatic oil recovery system so we don’t lose oil. Power consumption has been quite impressive with safe and reliable operation.
